Dr. Bob Forinash Community Day School (7-12)
Dr. Bob Forinash Community Day School (Forinash CDS) was established in 2015 by the governing board of Lompoc Unified School District. Dr. Bob Forinash Community Day School is a referral-only school, offering an alternative educational option specifically designed for students in grades 7-12 who have met one of the following conditions:
In alignment with the California Education Code, the program’s purpose is to teach students how to make appropriate decisions about behavior, offer students additional resources including access to counseling, and provide a rehabilitation plan integrated into a student’s individualized learning plan. To return to the high school in their attendance area, students are expected to attain a 90% attendance rate and strengthen their academics.
Forinash CDS is a referral-only school. When a referral is received, the school will notify parents to pick up enrollment materials. Once enrollment is complete, students and parents are required to meet with the principal and the teacher and complete orientation prior to the first day of school.
Maple High School (9-12)
Maple High School is a California Model Continuation High School dedicated to preparing students for success in a rapidly evolving world. The school focuses on empowering students to advocate for themselves and transition smoothly to higher education or a career path of their choice. From day one, Maple High School prioritizes equipping students with essential skills for success and fostering a caring environment for both students and families.
The school offers various academic support programs, such as career technical education courses, concurrent enrollment courses, and a variety of electives. Students receive ongoing support from advisory teachers in advisory classes. Additionally, students can have access to social-emotional learning (SEL) support, including counseling and SEL lessons.
To enroll in Maple High School, students initiate the process by meeting with their counselor at the LUSD high school in their attendance area.
